Mike is a mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Illinois. He and his wife Beth have two children; Drew, 5, and Emma, 8. They live in McKinney, TX where Mike works for Frito Lay as a mechanical engineer.  

Mike does all the engineering drawings for the Speed Sports Special. At the races he is responsible for all electrical equipment on the boat. He downloads the on board computer between rounds and interprets the results from the previous run. In addition he mixes the nitromethane fuel, and maintains the propellers, propeller shafts and underwater struts.
